Client Overview:
Our Client, in the education sector currently has an exciting new opportunity for a Payroll Manager position within the Finance Department. Reporting to the Director, the Payroll Manager will be responsible for carrying out the day-to-day operations of the Payroll Department and will ensure service excellence within the Payroll Department and will oversee compliance, system maintenance, process improvement initiatives and annual payroll processes.

Job Overview:

You will be leading a Payroll Team and works to foster an environment of collaboration and strong customer service.
This role will be a key member of the Financial Services leadership team and will collaborate with Human Resources and other stakeholders across the company to ensure efficient processing and sharing of required information, the development of policies and procedures that will have company wide impact and will participate in internal and external committees and working groups that affect payroll and benefits management and reporting.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration and will have a minimum 7 years payroll experience in a unionized environment with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory/management capacity. A Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) would be preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of payroll regulations and policies and experience in system implementations and process improvements with an integrated system in a large, complex environment.
The candidate must have an exceptional customer service orientation with the ability to work effectively and cohesively in a team-based environment.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, demonstrated initiative, professional and flexible.
A self-motivated individual that can act with diplomacy and tact, who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
