Client Overview:
Our client, in the biotech industry, has an immediate opening for an experienced r Payroll Administrator to provide payroll service within the Finance Department by processing a Canadian and US payroll. Other key responsibilities are pay period end functions, reconciling benefits, ensuring payments are remitted in a timely manner and assisting with year-end duties. This role will provide a customer-focused service delivery. You will liaison with employees and third party payroll vendors and ensure payroll processing accurately reflects company specific pay policies, procedures and legislation. As the Senior Payroll Administrator, you will also be involved in payroll system implementations, upgrades and integrations.

Job Overview:

• Process new hires, terminations, ROE’s, leave of absences, position changes and adjustments using ADP Workforce Now
• Prepare ADP import file for paid time off hours using a report from the Time Off module in the Workday Human Capital Management system
• Apply current pay period RRSP changes and new enrollments in payroll using ADP Workforce Now, prepare contribution file and remit to insurance carrier
• Prepare a net pay comparison report immediately after payroll processing, comparing current net pay with previous period net pay in order to identify any discrepancies
• Pay period end process; download standard payroll reports, custom reports and GL files after pay processing and distribute to senior Finance staff
• Reconcile benefit premiums on a monthly basis, identify and resolve discrepancies
• Monitor the payroll inbox and respond to employee requests
• Assist with the payroll year- end
• Other duties as required
• Minimum of 5years of related payroll work experience
• Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification is an asset
• Proven experience working in a high volume and fast paced environment
• Works well under pressure to meet payroll deadlines, and can adapt and shift focus in order to support ever changing business needs
• Thorough understanding of payroll legislation, best practices and benefits
• Structured, disciplined and organized with the ability to take ownership of payroll processes and a keen focus on continuous improvement on payroll processes and procedures
• Payroll experience in various industries, using various HCM and Payroll Systems; knowledge of ADP Workforce Now is an asset
• Ability to apply analytical and problem solving skills to day to day work
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral); communicates in a clear, concise and organized manner; listens to others to obtain information
• Systems implementation experience is an asset
