Client Overview:
As a result of growth, a newly created Financial Reporting Specialist is available in this mining company.
Reporting to the Corporate Controller and working closely with the Finance team, the Financial Reporting Specialist will be responsible for the preparation of the monthly close and quarterly consolidation, working papers, variance analysis, financial statements, MD&A and other related projects

Job Overview:

You are a designated accountant (CPA), and must have good knowledge of accounting cycles and systems (Sage 300), international financial reporting standards and internal control principles. You must be meticulous and detail-oriented. You are a team player with good communication skills.

Job Duties
Prepare quarterly and annual financial reports under IFRS. Prepare consolidation and financial statements, including statements of cash flows and note disclosures. Perform technical accounting analysis for such items as provision for environmental rehabilitation, goodwill, impairment testing, etc. Assist with the annual audit. Prepare financial analyses for Senior Management. Assist with projects as required.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance Designated CPA (CA, CMA, CGA) 3-5 years of hands-on experience in financial reporting under IFRS, including detailed understanding of accounting treatment and disclosure requirements 3-5 years of full cycle accounting experience (preparing journal entries, working papers, financial statements, notes, lead sheets, etc.) Experience working with Sage 300 (ACCPAC) Experience with multi-currency consolidations Experience in audit and internal controls is a plus Experience in implementing business processes and systems is a plus Experience working in the mining industry is a plus
