A rapidly growing firm in Burnaby, with diverse holdings servicing the construction industry is looking for a Controller to join its dynamic team. Since 2014, they have specialized in acquiring and developing niche businesses within British Columbia. Their focus has been on acquiring successful businesses and giving them the structure and attention that they need to reach their potential. Their businesses supply materials and services throughout Western Canada.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing budgets through the collection and analysis of financial data.
  • Establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures to maximize profit and minimize risk.
  • Assist with tax planning.
  • Participate in reviews with operations staff to ensure that targets will be met.
  • Reconciliation of all financial information.
  • Assist with forecasting for cash flow, expenditures, taxation, and acquisitions.

The controller will work hand in hand with the CFO and other head office staff to maintain the financial health of the organization. This position requires a thorough, detail-oriented team member who wants to be part of the long-term growth trajectory of our organization.

Major Position Accountabilities:

  • Perform bank account reconciliations.
  • Complete PST and GST filings.
  • Maintain and present applicable reports to BOD and divisional managers.
  • Monitor bank accounts and cash flow.
  • Complete compliance documentation.
  • Liaise with our accountants, lawyers, and bank.

What the company will expect from you:

  • CPA with a minimum of 5 years of private-industry experience.
  • Driven attitude with a focus on achieving organizational excellence.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Previous experience with Oracle NetSuite is valued.ag
