A fast-growing private technology company with plans to go public shortly is seeking a technically strong Manager of Financial Reporting to join their team.

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Manager of Financial Reporting is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial reporting process and will offer key support to the senior leadership team. This position has responsibility over the financial close process, preparation of financial statements and internal controls, with the assistance of corporate accounting team, and will collaborate with the CFO to accurately present financial information to management in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

· Direct and coordinate all activities associated with the month- and quarter-end closing process, including entries and accruals

· Lead all aspects of internal and external financial statement preparation, including managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for accurate accounting of consolidated business results

· Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, including supporting working papers, financial statements, KPIs and notes thereto

· Prepare quarterly and annual MD&A

· Responsible for SRED

· Address technical accounting matters as they arise, including research and position papers

· Coordinate annual audit and supporting documents, including liaising with audit team

· Review monthly bank reconciliations

· Lead corporate and sales tax compliance to ensure the accurate and timely completion of all government reporting and tax filings

· Develop and oversee a comprehensive set of internal control processes, mitigate financial risk and ensure accuracy of company records

· Assist with budgets and cash projections, including maintaining a budget to actual process

· Provide management with information vital to the decision-making process, including the development and monitoring of key business performance metrics

· Manage the procurement and compliance of all insurance

· Assist with ASPE to IFRS conversion process

· Lead selection and implementation of a new accounting system

· Lead process design and implementation for public company financial reporting close and monthly internal reporting/financial snapshots

· Support leadership team in M&A activities and integration of target(s)

· implementation of new accounting software

Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years’ experience post CPA designation, including a minimum of 1 year in a public company environment:

· CPA designation and  public company experience

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

· Strong technical accounting knowledge

· Knowledge of public company reporting and disclosure requirements

· In depth knowledge of IFRS and GAAP, as well as North American public company regulatory compliance

· Effective problem solving, organizational and time management skills, detail oriented

· Experience in implementation of software and strong verbal and written communication skills
