A local company located in Burnaby in bulk transporter of refined petroleum products currently seeking for Payroll Administrator to join their team whose responsibilities will primarily focus on the accurate and timely processing of the essential tasks required for the execution of end-to-end payroll operations by internal policies and government regulations.  This company provides excellent benefits with bonuses.

This position reports to the Accounting Manager, and the Payroll Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the compliant processing of all union and non-union payrolls of the company.

This is the hybrid position. However, attendance at the office may be required during the initial training period. Due to deadlines, this position requires full-time hours during the last and first weeks of every month.

Job description:

  • It is primarily focus on the accurate and timely processing of the essential tasks required for the execution of end-to-end payroll operations by internal policies and government regulations.
  • They will be responsible for ensuring that all payroll-related taxes, benefit remittances, other withholdings, and the related documentation are made promptly and properly accounted for and will assist with the reconciliation of the G/L accounts related to payroll.
  • They will also be expected to work with department managers/supervisors in the resolution of payroll discrepancies and respond promptly to employee and third-party inquiries regarding payroll.
  • Responsibilities also include the proper record retention and storage of all payroll-related documentation, ensuring that the security and integrity of all confidential and financial information is maintained.
  • The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for the production of reports for management and other departments and they will be expected to work collaboratively with management to respond to escalated issues, policies, and procedures affecting payroll processing and functions.
  • This position will also be expected to assist with the implementation of processes to improve the existing functionality of the systems impacting payroll.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years experience in payroll administration for unionized and federally regulated employers preferred.
