A well-established, food manufacturing company is looking for a Senior Accountant. The company has been in the industry for over 34 years with its operations in 6 countries.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Prepare and record adjustments as required including cost accruals, deferrals, etc.
  • Reconcile accounts, including intra-company transactions monthly
  • Reconcile, report, and remit to statutory compliance and government reporting
  • Ensure all financial transactions are appropriately accounted for and meet GAAP
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process and monitor performance to budget to ensure fiscal responsibility
  • Assist with cash management processes, including cash flow projections and online banking
  • Plan and coordinate fiscal year-end work with external auditors
  • Develop and maintain internal controls
  • Prepare, maintain, and file accounting documents and records
  • Provide accounting and clerical assistance to the company
  • Other accounting projects as assigned
  • Participate in ad-hoc assignments or special projects

  • Excellent communication for liaising with stakeholders in an amicable, prompt, and professional manner
  • Strong business and written communication skills
  • Ability to work and meet tight deadlines
  • Passionate about neat and organized work

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A solid knowledge base of accounting functions is required
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience is strongly preferred
  • CPA designation
  • Diligent and detail-oriented
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Previous experience working with ERP systems would be an asset
  • Self-starting, team player who is willing to work collaboratively toward achieving goals
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, embrace ambiguity, and creatively solve problems
  • Excellent analytical, financial, and mathematical abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Analytical skills with strong accuracy
  • Ability to travel
  • Valid Driver’s License
