A well-known and trusted General Contractor and Construction Manager based in Western Canada. A company that provides construction management services and aims to make a positive impact in the community.
Report directly to the Controller, as the Project Accountant, you will be part of a team responsible for all finance and accounting. This is a one-year term to support rapid growth and a leave of absence, however, there’s a potential for transition into a permanent role thereafter.
Responsibilities:
– Project accounting within both construction management and general contracting environments.
– Preparation of detailed cost and revenue forecasts.
– Billing/progress draws and collection.
– Track and manage sub-contracts to ensure funding, correct cost coding, and approval.
– Assist Project teams with monthly job reporting.
– Provide financial support and direction to other stakeholders within the business as needed.
– Maintain project files, which include filing invoices and other documentation as required.
– Responsible for A/R and A/P administration.
– Model the Company Values.
Qualifications
– At least 2 years experience in a project accounting role within the construction industry.
– Working towards or completion of relevant degree/diploma with a focus in Finance or Accounting.
– Strong attention to detail and accuracy of all data.
– Previous experience liaising with client inquiries.
– Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all different levels of business.
– Excellent organizational skills to handle multiple deadlines and tasks within a fast-paced environment.
– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
– Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
– Experience with WCB and WSIB remittances.
– Payroll – remittances for dues, RRSP, Tax Deductions.
– Payroll – new employee set up.
– Visa statement processing and reconciliation.
– Strong experience with both AR and AP.
– Posting bank deposits.
– Experience with Jonas Construction Software an asset.
Job Type: Contract
Salary Range: $65,000.00-$85,000.00
